Dean E. Miller
With many years of operating experience at both large and small companies, Dean offers a unique perspective to VIPdesk as a Board Member. Dean joined Novitas Capital, an early stage focused venture capital firm, in 1998 and currently serves as a Managing Director. Previously, Dean served as the Chief Financial Officer of Adaptiv Learning Systems, a venture-backed spinout from the University of Pennsylvania. Dean began his career at the Chubb Group, where he held a variety of management positions. While at Chubb, Dean was responsible for operations, financial management and internal consulting. Dean has led investments in Renal Solutions (acquired by Fresenius (NYSE: FMS)), Incurrent Solutions (acquired by Online Resources (NASDAQ: ORCC)) and LearnNow, Inc. (acquired by Edison Schools). He currently serves the Board of Directors or an observer of Agile Therapeutics, Cellumen, GelMed Sciences, Logical Therapeutics and Neuronyx. Dean is also currently Vice Chairman of Wharton Private Equity Partners, an international alumni organization (www.wpen.org) and serves on adjunct faculty at the Wharton School in the Department of Management.
Dean holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and Psychology from Franklin and Marshall College, and he graduated with distinction from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School with an MBA in Private Equity.
